I painted this Great Horned Owl Feather (actual size) on an antique letter dated 1851, in watercolor and gouache. The Great Horned Owl flies silently, it's feathers delicately fringed and soft. This feather is painted with many layers of paint to create a soft texture, as if it just landed on this French letter.
